MEETING
The parliamentary party of PML-N meets in Islamabad this evening to decide about new leader of the house in the National Assembly.

It will also discuss the situation arising out of the Supreme Court verdict in Panama Papers case.

Earlier, senior party leadership held an informal consultative session to discuss the future course of action.

Following the Supreme Court judgment yesterday, Nawaz Sharif stepped down from the seat of the Prime Minister.

With that the cabinet also stood dissolved and as per requirements of the law and constitution, the President is looking after the affairs of the country.

He is expected to soon summon the National Assembly session for election of new leader of the house.

 

ASFAND
President Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali Khan says his party believes in supremacy of the parliament and will continue to work for the same.

Addressing a news conference in Peshawar this afternoon, he said current assemblies should be allowed to complete their term.

Asfandyar Wali Khan said despite reservations, the ANP accepts verdict of the Supreme Court about Panama Papers.

He regretted that no prime minister has his ever completed a constitutional tenure.


 

AJK-PM
AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider says despite serious reservations, the PML (N) leadership has implemented the Supreme Court judgement in Panama Papers case.

Talking to media persons in Islamabad today, he said PML (N) will not allow derailment of the democratic process.

The AJK Prime Minister said the future of Kashmir is linked with Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman said that PML-N has put the country on the path of progress.

He said China Pakistan Economic Corridor is an epitome of tremendous endeavors by the PML-N government, which translated the dreams of development into reality through practical efforts.


 

HAJJ
Ministry of Religious Affairs has sought input from intending Hajj pilgrims to further improve arrangements of Hajj.

According to official sources, a questionnaire has been placed at the ministry's website. The intending pilgrims can fill the form and share experiences of Hajj to enable the ministry to improve arrangements.

The intending pilgrims have been asked to comment about standards of Hajj training and quality of facilities provided at Haji camps and airports.

The questionnaire also seeks the pilgrims' opinion about quality
of residences in Saudi Arabia and the transport facilities from Haram Sharif to their residences.

Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal has renovated one hundred forty information and communications technology laboratories of various Women Empowerment Centres to help destitute women become self-sufficient.

According to official sources, the Women Empowerment Centres are being equipped with latest technology.

One hundred fifty-seven of these Centers are providing free training to widows, orphans & poor girls in different skills including drafting, cutting, sewing, knitting, hand & machine embroidery, computer, photocopiers, interior decoration, beautician, cooking and glass painting.

Presently 8000 trainees are benefiting from training in these schools, whereas 106348 trainees have been passed
out.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey Sohail Mahmood says closer collaboration and sharing of experiences between Pakistan and Turkey in the health sector will be mutually beneficial.

He was talking to a delegation,comprising doctors and nurses of the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzafargarh in Ankara.

The ambassador urged the delegation members to employ new techniques learnt in Turkey in their respective institutions.

The delegation is visiting leading hospitals in Ankara to learn new techniques in the areas of orthopedics, surgeries, urology, infection control and hospital management.

Four people have been killed and five injured in a landmine explosion in Panjgur.

 

MASOOD
AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan says private sector is playing significant role in overall infrastructure development in the state.

Inaugurating a Private Bank in Muzaffarabad, he said the private sector, including banks, could invest in hydel power generation, tourism, telecommunication and industrial sector.

The President said that international banks would be provided investment friendly atmosphere in AJK.


 

KASHMIR
In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership, comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik, has said that Indian secret agencies are devising plans to link Kashmir freedom movement with global terrorism.

The leaders, in a joint statement in Srinagar said these agencies have chalked out a programme to link the movement with global organizations like ISIS and Al-Qaeda to mislead the international community.

The leaders said that the peace-loving nations of the world have also acknowledged the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir and the Kashmiri people are continuing the peaceful struggle for its settlement.

The puppet authorities prevented Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is under continued house arrest in Srinagar, from addressing a press conference, today, by deploying heavy contingents of Indian police and troops outside his residence.

In Bhaderwah town of Jammu region, people staged forceful demonstrations and observed complete shutdown against the ruthless beating of a youth by Indian police.

 

OIC
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has urged the world community to force Israel to abide by international resolutions that guarantee protection of Muslim holy sites.

In a statement, the OIC also stressed that the two-state solution on the basis of international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative is the only way to achieve peace and stability in the region.

The OIC vowed that it will continue to support the resilience and steadfastness of the Palestinian people in their struggle.


 


N-KOREA
North Korea has described its latest test of intercontinental ballistic missile as a stern warning to the United States.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in a statement said after the test the entire United States is within striking range of his country.

US President Donald Trump described it as a reckless and dangerous action of the North Korean regime".


POLAND
The European Union has taken legal action against Poland for passing a law which is feared to undermine independence of the country's common courts.

The action could lead to Poland being hauled before the European Court of Justice.

In the three-day annual Shandoor Polo Festival which began this morning, Chitral defeated Ghizar by 9-2 goals in Chitral this afternoon.

Earlier, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tourism Abdul Munim Khan inaugurated the festival.

Rain-thunderstorm with few heavy falls is expected at scattered places in Rawalpindi, Islamabad ,Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, Hazara Divisions and Kashmir. Rain-thunderstorm is also expected at isolated places in KP, Faisalabad, Lahore, D.G Khan, Zhob, Sibbi divisions and FATA.
