Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the government has decided to establish a new gas power plant of 1200-megawatt capacity to meet energy requirements of the country.

Presiding over a meeting in Lahore, he said approximately 168 billion rupees have been saved in gas projects of 3600-megawatt.

Shahbaz Sharif said 1320-megawatt Sahiwal Coal Power Plant has been completed in a record period of time.

The Chief Minister said loadshedding has been sufficiently decreased due to completion of energy projects.

During the meeting, German experts assured of providing technical cooperation for new gas power project.
