PML-N Parliamentary Party endorses nomination of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as interim Prime Minister and Shahbaz Sharif as Prime Minister

PML-N has nominated Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as the prime minister for interim setup. A unanimous decision to this effect was taken by the PML (N) parliamentary party meeting at Punjab House in Islamabad today. The meeting also finalized the name of Shahbaz Sharif as prime minister after the interim setup.

Former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif he still did not understand the grounds for his disqualification and was content that he was not disqualified on corruption charges

Nawaz Sharif said he was disqualified for not declaring the money that was not received by him.He said he has been paying tax on all his assets and declared assets as and when required. He said that he was disqualified for not receiving the salary from his son. He said the salary that was not received from his son was not declared in his assets. He said that during his tenure, the major challenges facing the country have been effectively addressed. The defence of the country has been made impregnable and peace restored in the country. Nawaz Shrif said the backbone of the terrorist has been broken and soon Pakistan will be made terrorism-free country.

PML- N parliamentary party’s meeting held in Islamabad; continuity of democracy is essential for political stability in the country

The meeting is discussing the situation arising out of the Supreme Court verdict in Panama Papers case. Addressing the meeting, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said PML-N is stronger than before. Former says that his disqualification was not due to any kind of corruption in the public money. He was speaking at the PML-N parliamentary party meeting at Punjab House in Islamabad this evening.

Security forces clear 110 square kilometers area in Rajgal valley

In Khyber Agency, Operation Khyber-4 is continuing and security forces are now searching cleared areas of Wucha Wana, Bagh, Ziarat Sereh and Pak Darra.  According to ISPR, the security forces have cleared 110 square kilometers area in Rajgal valley. A number of terrorist hideouts were also dismantled and improvised explosive devices neutralized.

Neelum Jhelum hydropower project to start electricity generation by February next year

The Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project is scheduled to start electricity generation with commissioning of its first generating unit by February next year. It was informed during a meeting of the project's Board of Management held in Islamabad. Chairman WAPDA, Lt Gen (Retd) Muzammil Hussain also attended the meeting. The meeting was informed that filling of water in reservoir of the project will start in October this year while commissioning of the power generating units will commence in February next year.
