Saudi forces have intercepted ballistic missiles in the sky above capital Riyadh and the southern city of Jazan.

The source of the projectiles was unclear and there was no immediate claim of responsibility.

The residents in Riyadh reported multiple blasts around followed by emergency vehicle sirens.

Meanwhile, North Korea also fired at least one unidentified projectile into the ocean off its east coast.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said today that it appeared to be a ballistic missile.
