PM urges political parties to resolve differences through dialogue
Nawaz Sharif says mutual differences among political parties must be sorted out through discussions and debates.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has urged political parties to resolve their differences through dialogue in a cordial environment.
Talking to a delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement led by Dr Farooq Sattar in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said difference of opinion is the beauty of democracy and it should be aimed at development of the country and betterment of the people.
The Prime Minister said mutual differences among political parties must be sorted out through discussions and debates for which our constitution has provided appropriate platforms.
Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan has witnessed an exemplary display of parliamentary democracy and rule of law during recent times and all political parties have expressed solidarity with the system for upholding the supremacy of democracy and strengthening of democratic institutions.
The Prime Minister called upon the democratically elected forces of Sindh to work in unison for the development and progress of the province.
He said directions have been issued for ensuring timely completion of ongoing development projects in Karachi.
Overall political situation in the country, particularly in Sindh, came under discussion during the meeting.
Chief of Qaumi Watan Party Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao also called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday and discussed overall political situation in the country.
