Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid says the government will accelerate the pace of development to overcome the problems caused by the sit-ins during the last three months.

He was addressing a news conference along with Chairman Board of Investment Dr. Miftah Ismail in Islamabad on Tuesday evening after conclusion of the two-day International Investment Conference.

Pervaiz Rashid said the government will inject its best efforts to timely complete the projects, which have been affected by the sit-ins.

He said holding of the investment conference is proof of the government's intention to implement the agenda of development at a fast pace.

The Information Minister said investors are taking keen interest in investing in different sectors in the country.

Miftah Ismail said the conference proved successful more than expectations because the investors showed interest also in the fields other than the proposed ones by Pakistan, such as education and health.

He said the investment conference successfully achieved its objectives, as the guests were effectively informed about the investment potential and procedure in Pakistan.

Miftah Ismail said the environment has become quite conducive for investment in Pakistan owing to the positive policies of the PML-N government.

He said the foreign investors are showing confidence in Pakistan's economy because of continuity of democracy, rule of law, and independence of judiciary in the country.
