Eid-ul-Fitr that marks the end of the holy month of Ramazan is beginning today (Monday) in Saudi Arabia and neighbouring states.

The religious authorities announced that they had received reports of sightings of the new moon, marking the end of Ramazan.

Eid is also being celebrated in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan and other Middle Eastern countries. Similarly, Muslims in many western countries including the US and UK are celebrating Eid on Monday.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also offered Eid prayer at Masjid-e-Nabvi on Monday.

Earlier, he offered Nawafil at Masjid-e-Nabvi and prayed for peace, prosperity and progress of Pakistan.

A large number of Pakistanis met the Prime Minister and exchanged Eid greetings with him.
