Russia and Egypt have agreed to start the work on establishment of a nuclear power plant project in Egypt’s coastal Matrouh province.

The agreement came at a meeting between Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sisi and the chairman of Russia’s state-owned nuclear energy company  Alexey Likhachev in Cairo.

President Sisi said that the project of building a nuclear power station represents a new symbol for friendship and cooperation between Egypt and Russia.
