(DG ISPR addressed a news conference in Peshawar this afternoon)

"Border management will only be effective if Afghanistan also plays a responsible role. The security forces have unearthed and averted fourteen terrorist attacks in different parts of the country. One thousand four hundred and seventy combing operations have been conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA since 1st July this year to control the menace of terrorism. Seven facilitators of suicide attacks on Christian Colony Peshawar and District Courts Mardan have been arrested. Both the terrorist attacks were planned in Afghanistan and the suicide bombers entered Pakistan from Afghan soil. The information about terrorist attacks has been shared with the International Security Assistance Force, the Afghan government, army and intelligence. Security forces have established twenty check posts along Pak- Afghan border to control cross border movement of terrorists. Our soldiers are firmly established at the eastern border and are closely monitoring all developments. We have always talked responsibly... We never pointed finger at others until we found concrete evidence": Lt. Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa

Pakistan Armed Forces are ready to protect and defend the country’s sovereignty and integrity – Khawaja Asif

In an interview, Defence Minister said: "Our armed forces have rendered supreme sacrifices in the war against terrorism and are also capable to face any threat from India. The armed forces recently conducted a war exercise to prepare themselves to counter any untoward situation. If India tries to do any misadventure, it would have to face dire consequences. Whole nation from Karachi to Gilgit is united to face any aggression. Uri attack was staged by India itself to divert attention from Indian atrocities and barbarism against the innocent Kashmiris in the occupied Kashmir"
