AJK-PM:

Raja Farooq Haider has been nominated as Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of PML-N AJK Chapter chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad today. 

The meeting was also attended by PML-N federal leadership and newly elected member of AJK Legislative Assembly. 

Speaking on occasion, the AJK-designated Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider said that he will come up to the expectations of Party leadership of the people.

He said his agenda will be merit, good governance and zero tolerance for corruption.

 

AHSAN:

Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal says completion of China Pakistan Economic Corridor will not only change fate of Pakistan but also benefit the entire region.

Talking to media men after his address to traders and industrialists at Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi, he said due to government's measure economy has been steered on right path.

Ahsan Iqbal said all the sectors are yielding positive trends to all  vibrant and effective economic policies adopted the government.

He said special attention is being paid on infrastructure development and strengthening the national economy.

The Planning Minister said for the improvement of Railways one hundred  fifteen billion rupees have been injected in Railways.

He further said that bullish trend at Pakistan Stock Exchange is continue and it has become symbol of Pakistan.

Ahsan Iqbal expressed the hope energy crisis facing by the nation will be overcome by 2018.

 

 

ANUSHA:

Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunications Anusha Rehman has said usage of mobile internet will be increased due to Four Generation Technology.

She was addressing a ceremony of giving 4-G license to Telenor Company in Islamabad today.

Anusha Rehman appreciated the role of mobile company in controlling grey trafficking.

She also lauded the company's cooperation with the government in bio-metric verification system.

 

OATH:

The newly appointed members of the Election Commission of Pakistan took oath of their offices in Islamabad this morning.

They are retired Justice Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi from Punjab, retired Justice Irshad Qaiser from KP, retired Justice Shakeel Ahmed Baloch from Balochistan and Abdul Ghaffar Soomro from Sindh.

Chief Election Commissioner retired Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza administered oath to the new members of the Commission.

Radio Pakistan's correspondent says with their oath-taking, the composition of the Election Commission have been completed.

 

APA:

The meeting of Asian Parliamentary Assembly's Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development continuing its deliberations in Islamabad today.

The meeting being held under the auspices of the Senate of Pakistan is pondering over issues being faced by the Asian continent in the process of economic and social development.

Sixty-three delegates from nineteen countries are participating  in the meeting.

PAK-INDIA:

Talks between Pakistan Rangers and BSF are in progress in Lahore.

 

At the outset of talks, both the parties agreed not to violate ceasefire across the border. 

       

GILANI:

In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has credited the current uprising to the martyrdom of Burhan Wani.

Addressing protestors through a window of his house in Srinagar, he said we are fighting a big power but our commitment and sacrifices will defeat it.

Ali Gilani said the martyred Mujahid commander, Burhan Wani spoke to him over phone ahead of his killing by Indian troops.

 

CHINA:

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on media organizations from various countries to play a positive role in promoting the Belt an Road initiative.

In a letter to Media Cooperation Forum on Belt and Road held in Beijing, he said media institutions can use the platform to promote state to state relations and boost mutual trust.

The Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road is aimed at building a trade and infrastructure network connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along ancient trade routes.

INDONESIA:

Indonesian President Joko Widodo has announced a new Cabinet.

It is his second Cabinet reshuffle in less than two years.

 

YEMEN:

In Yemen, several Houthi rebels have been killed in clashes with government forces in southern city of Taiz.

Government forces have claimed to have regained control of a mountain area near Taiz.
