The sixty-eighth martyrdom anniversary of Captain Sarwar Shaheed was observed in the country on Wednesday.

According to ISPR, a ceremony was held in Rawalpindi to commemorate the sacrifices of first Nishan-e-Haider holder in Pakistan.

A large number of army officers and soldiers attended the ceremony where glowing tribute was paid to him.  

Brigadier Shahid Nazir and Brig. Farrukh Naseem laid wreath on the grave of Capt. Sarwar Shaheed on behalf of Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif.

Captain Sarwar was honoured Nishan-e-Haider for sacrificing his life for the motherland at Talputra, Azad Kashmir, in 1948.

In a message on the martyrdom anniversary of Captain Raja Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed , President Mamnoon Hussain says the nations will always remain indebted to its heroes, who laid down their lives defending the motherland.

He said his act of chivalry will always inspire Pakistanis to foil the nefarious designs of the enemies of Pakistan.
