ECO-MEETING

Senior officials of Economic Cooperation Organization are finalizing the agenda in Islamabad today for 13th ECO summit.

They are discussing plans and strategies to promote cooperation for the development and prosperity in the region.

Pakistan has expressed desire to connect the ECO region through a world-class communication infrastructure for quick connectivity and transportation.

The Ministerial level meeting of ECO will be held tomorrow to approve the agenda, which will be discussed further at the summit being held on Wednesday.

BISP

Over 5.4 million women are benefiting from Benazir Income Support Programme across the country.

According to details, with an increased budget of one hudred and fifteen billion rupees, BISP has become Pakistan`s largest women finnacial inclusion programme.

The program has started Biometric Verification System for facilitating the payment to beneficiaies.

The program has led to significant decline in poverty by seven percent.

The program has initiated online complaint Managaemnet system through its helpline number as well as through live radio complaint resolution.

SHAHBAZ

Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif says all resources of the province are being utilized for the welfare of people.

He was talking to elected representatives who in Lahore today.

Chief Minister said transparency and standard is being ensured in developmental projects.

ARRESTS

At least thirty-one suspects have been arrested across the country in the lastst search operations under Operation Raad-ul-Fassad.

Of them, nineteen suspects have been arrested in Haifzabad and twelve in Kabir wala.

CHAGHI

Iranian authorities have handed over 85 Pakistani nationals to FIA at Taftan border in Chagai district.

They were living in Iran without legal documents.

GILANI

In occupied Kashmir Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir has passed a resolution to extend the tenure of its Chairman Syed Ali Gilani by a year.

A spokesman of the party in a statement in Srinagar said that  all members requested Syed Ali Gilani and Executive Council to continue and lead the party.

OIC

Organization of Islamic Cooperation will host a meeting of the International Contact Group on Afghanistan in Jeddah tomorrow.  

Delegations from over 50 countries are likely to attend the meeting.

The Group, formed in 2009 under auspices of Germany, has emerged as a prominent platform for coordination of the international efforts and initiatives towards contributing peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The United Nations Human Rights Council meets in Geneva today to discuss the human rights violations in different parts of the world.

The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas will also speak on this occasion.

US-CHINA

The top Chinese diplomat Yang Jiechi will arrive in Washington today to hold dialogue with US Administration on bilateral relations and cooperation in diverse fields.

YEMEN

The United Nations has announced to launch a wide-scale humanitarian aid campaign in Yemen from April.

This was stated by UN Chief for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Stephen O'Brien after a meeting with Yemeni President Abdu Rabbo Mansur Hadi in Aden.

PSL

The first Qualifying Final of Pakistan Super League will be played between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators at Sharjah tomorrow.

The second Qualifying Final will be played on Wednesday between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings.
