Senate pays homage to late Justice Rana Bhagwandas
Houses observes one-minute silence; Senators say judgments delivered by him are an asset for the judiciary
Senate began its 111th session with with Chairman Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari in the chair today.
The House paid homage to late Justice Rana Bhagwandas for his services for the country and the nation.
The Chairman Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari said Rana Bhagwandas was an upright and honest person and judgments delivered by him are an asset for the judiciary.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad said Rana Bhagwandas never compromised on basic principles.
Senator Hari Ram said Rana Bhagwandas always worked for supremacy of law. He said late Justice was a true Pakistani.
The House also observed one minute silence to pay homage to late Justice Bhagwandas.
The chair announced the panel of presiding officers for the current session. They are Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Dr. Jahangir Badar and Chaudhary Jaffar Iqbal.
