PM
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says the projects initiated by the government to over come energy crisis in the country have started yielding positive results.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the second LNG terminal at Port Qasim in Karachi today.

The Prime Minister expressed the hope that by the end of November this year loadshedding will completely come to an end throughout the country.

The Prime Minister said PML(N) government does not believe in hollow slogans and completion of the second LNG terminal at port Qasim is a proof of that.

He said the terminal will facilitate transporting LNG to power house for producing cheap energy.

He said contract of this terminal was awarded through transparent bidding and the project was completed in a record short time.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that functioning of this terminal will be equally beneficial for industrial sector and the common man.

The Prime Minister was briefed that the work on this project began in July 2016 and completed in a record period of one year.

He was further informed that the terminal will formally start functioning on 1st of November this year.

The terminal has a capacity to handle seven hundred fifty million standard cubic feet gas per day.

Our Karachi correspondent Altaf Pirzado reports that the terminal has been constructed by Pakistan Gas Port Consortium Limited in collaboration with the national and international private sector companies.


PM-CONSORTIUM
Meanwhile, addressing a ceremony hosted by Pakistan Gas Port Consortium in Karachi today, the Prime Minister said the government is committed to supply gas to every corner of the country.

He said the government wants to reduce dependence on oil for energy production in the country.

 

ASIF
Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif says Pakistan has rendered great scarifies and suffered huge economic losses in the war against terrorism.

Talking to APP, he said recognition of these sacrifices by the world community is essential for elimination of terrorism.

He said no other country has done more than Pakistan to eliminate terrorism.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan will continue its efforts to wipe out terrorism with commitment by taking action against terrorists without any discrimination.

He said Pakistan is minutely reviewing the new US strategy about Afghanistan and South Asia.

He said Pakistan is a peace loving country and keen to develop cordial relations with neighbouring counties on equal basis.

The Minister said after parliament's session, he would visit regional countries for bilateral consultation on current issues.

 

ISPR
Operation Rudd ul Fasaad continues in full swing across the country.

According to ISPR, FC Balochistan conducted special Intelligence Based Operations in Kahan, Dera Bugti, Chattar and Uch areas in which two terrorists were killed four terrorist camps destroyed.

In another operation in Turbat, FC Balochistan foiled terrorist activity.

ISPR said, during last two days, FC Balochistan has busted a network of terrorists and their facilitators.

Two terrorists' facilitators have been arrested and heavy cache of arms and ammunition recovered which was being transported to carry out terrorist activity in Turbat.


RANGERS-KARACHI
Sindh Rangers arrested six accused wanted to Law Enforcement Agencies, during raids in various parts of Karachi today.

Arms, ammunition and narcotics were also recovered from them.

 

HAJJ FLIGHTS
Hajj flight operation to airlift over one hundred and six thousand pilgrims under the government scheme has completed.

The last PIA flight carrying two hundred seventy-five Hujjaj landed in Jeddah this morning.

Under the private scheme, over fifty four thousand pilgrims have also arrived in the holy land.

Ministry of Religious Affair's Special Facilitation Centre remained operational at the Jeddah airport throughout the month long flight operation to ensure prompt transportation of Hujjaj to their places of accommodation.

On arrival, the centre also used to serve Hujjaj with a meal pack comprising juices, biscuits, dates and cake etc.

According to ministry's officials, the centre will remain operational for the next few days at Jeddah Airport. The centre will again become functional soon after the hajj for the post hajj operation.


 

BARJEES
Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Barjees Tahir has urged international community to take strict notice of human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir.

In a statement in Islamabad today, he said the silence of global community on human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir is beyond understanding.

He said Indian forces are involved in state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir.

 

AJK-ASSEMBLY
Azad Jammu and Kashmir President has convened special session of the AJK Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad tomorrow.

The Assembly will adopt unanimous resolutions condemning US President Donald Trump's recent speech negating Pakistan's role in the war against terrorism and blacklisting Hizbul Mujahideen.

He will also condem US decision about declaring Syed Salahuddin as terrorist.

The members will express their strong reservations over President Trump's speech and sanctions imposed by US on Hizbul Mujahideen.

 

KASHMIR
In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Pulwama district, today, against the killing of three youth by Indian troops following an attack on Police Lines in the district.

All shops and business establishments were closed while public transport remained off the road in the district.

Shutdown was also observed in Bandipora district against the mysterious killing of one 24-year Muzaffar Ahmad Parrey.


IRAQ
In Iraq, government forces have retaken most of Tal Afar from Islamic State rebels.

In a statement, Iraqi military said in Baghdad that fighting is ongoing in al-'Ayadiya, a small area just outside the city. Iraqi forces are waiting to retake the city's surrounding areas to declare a complete victory.

Tal Afar is the last bastion of Islamic State grup after the fall of Mosul in July.
Meanwhile, five people were killed and six injured in two seprate car bomb blasts in southern of Baghdad

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.


SYRIA-LEBNON
Ceasefire has been declared against Islamic State group on the Syria-Lebanon border.

The U.S.-backed Lebanese military said the cease-fire is to allow negotiations over the fate of several Lebanese soldiers captured by militants three years ago.

 

OLYMPICS
Chinese President Xi Jinping met with president of the Olympic Council of Asia Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahad al-Sabah in Tianjin today.

President Xi said in the occasion Beijing's hosting of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games is a good opportunity to create a win-win situation for Chinese sport and the international Olympic Movement.

Sheikh Ahmad, expressed his admiration for President Xi's efforts to promote international Olympic Movement and China's long-term support to the Olympic Council Asia.

 

WEATHER

Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next twenty four hours.

However, rain-thunderstorm is expected at few places in Multan, D.I Khan,Upper FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
