Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says the projects initiated by the government to overcome energy crisis in the country have started yielding positive results. The Prime Minister expressed the hope that by the end of November this year load shedding will completely come to an end throughout the country. The Prime Minister said PML (N) government does not believe in hollow slogans and completion of the second LNG terminal at port Qasim is a proof of that. He said the terminal will facilitate transporting LNG to power house for producing inexpensive energy. He said contract of this terminal was awarded through transparent bidding and the project was completed in a record short time.
Pakistan, china agree to continue close consultations for lasting peace & stability in Afghanistan
China has again reaffirmed its continuing support to Pakistan and vowed to further strengthen strategic friendship with it. This was assured by Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi while talking to Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua in Beijing. The Chinese foreign minister lauded Pakistan's great sacrifices made in fight against terrorism and urged international community to fully recognize these efforts. The foreign secretary, underlining the importance of Pakistan-China friendship, reiterated Pakistan's support to China on all issues of its core interest. Both sides also agreed to continue close consultations on efforts for lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan and underscored the importance of the Trilateral Afghanistan-China-Pakistan Foreign Minister's meeting.
Army Chief in Tajikistan to attend quadrilateral counter terrorism coordination forum
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa is in Tajikistan to attend Quadrilateral Counter Terrorism Coordination forum, comprising Pakistan, China, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. The two-day forum will discuss regional security environment and way forward in relation to situation in Afghanistan and counter terrorism efforts. On the sidelines, the Army Chief held meetings with Tajik Defence Minister Sherdil Mirzo and Chinese Chief of Joint Staff, General Li Zuocheng.
21 registration centers established for unregistered afghan refugees across country
Pakistan and United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) have jointly launched a registration campaign for registration of Afghan refugees. Talking to APP in Islamabad on Sunday, Chief Commissioner for Afghan refugees, Dr. Imran Zeb Khan said that twenty-one centers have been established across the country in this regard. He said so far over 20,000 afghan refugees were registered. He said that the main purpose of this registration campaign is to facilitate the Afghan refugees maximum and registration cards will be issued to them after Eid-ul Azha. Imran Zeb said Pakistan took various steps for the welfare of Afghan refugees including education and health sector.
Effective guidance system to be in place at mina to facilitate Pakistani pilgrims
An effective guidance system will be in place at the tent city of Mina, where pilgrims spend the first day of Hajj rituals to facilitate and assist Pakistani pilgrims locate their way and tents. This was stated by Director General Hajj Sajid Yousafani in an exclusive talk with our correspondent Zahid Hameed in Makkah. He said there will be pickets of Moavneens close to the tents of Pakistani pilgrims. These Moavneens clad in green jackets and carrying small Pakistani flags will be provided with Mina maps to properly guide the Hujjaj. He said Mina Maps have been printed and these will also be distributed amongst the Hujjaj so that they could themselves locate their places. In addition, a main office is also established in Mina from where Pakistani pilgrims can seek any kind of guidance. The Director General Hajj said that Mina is a well-organized valley having longitudinal roads with poles erected carrying pole and road numbers. He said the Hujjaj should note these numbers nearest to their tent in order to avoid any inconvenience.

Indian troops kill three youth in occupied Kashmir
Hours after separatists stormed a police facility in a pre-dawn attack in occupied Kashmir leaving eight dead, Indian forces killed three youth during a siege and search operation early on Sunday, Kashmir Media Service reported. Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Inspector General of Police Munir Khan said three burnt bodies were found from the Police Lines area in Pulwama district.

Iraq recaptures Tal Afar centre, citadel from IS
Iraqi forces announced on Saturday the ouster of fighters of the militant Islamic State group from central Tal Afar and its historic citadel, leaving them poised to fully recapture one of the last IS urban strongholds in the country. The advance, less than a week into an assault on the strategic city, comes after Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared victory in July over the jihadists in Iraq’s second city Mosul, where IS declared its “caliphate” in 2014.
