UN lauds Pakistan for hosting millions of Afghan refugees
SAFRON Minister says Pakistan expects all refugees to be repatriated by the end of this year.
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has lauded Pakistan for hosting millions Afghan refugees and providing them basic necessities of life for decades.
The appreciation was conveyed by a high-level delegation of UNHCR headed by UN Assistant high commissioner Volker Turks, in a meeting with Minister for States and Frontier Regions Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch in Islamabad.
The Minister said Pakistan expects all refugees to be repatriated by the end of this year.
He said that creation of a conducive environment in Afghanistan will encourage Afghan refugees to return to their homeland.
