Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan to implement the recommendations of Dawn Leaks Committee in letter and spirit.


The direction was given during a meeting between the Prime Minister and Interior Minister in Islamabad today.


The Interior Minister briefed the Prime Minister about important issues, including Dawn Leaks Report.


According to a spokesperson of the Interior ministry, all the legal and administrative formalities for implementation of the recommendations are being finalized.

Foreign Office says India stands fully exposed as a state sponsoring and perpetrating terrorism in Pakistan.


At the weekly news briefing in Islamabad today, Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakariya said the revelations made by former TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan and the confession statement of RAW agent Kulbushan Yadav are irrefutable proofs against India. 


Deploring the Indian atrocities and restrictions on social media in occupied Kashmir, the spokesperson said international community especially the United Nations should stop India from persecution of innocent people in the valley.



Pakistan says it would never allow its soil to be used against Afghanistan.  


This assurance was given to Afghan authorities by a high level Pakistan Army delegation headed by Chief of  General Staff Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar during a visit to Afghanistan today.  


The Pakistani side met Afghanistan's Acting Defence Minister Tariq Shah Bahramee and Afghan Army Chief General Mohammad Sharif Yaftali.


The delegation conveyed  condolences on behalf of General Qamar Javed Bajwa on loss of innocent lives in Mazar e Sharif terrorist attack and  expressed solidarity with Afghan forces and people.




Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says the government is committed to introduce electoral reforms in the country.


He expressed this resolve while chairing a meeting of the Laws Review Committee in Islamabad today.


The meeting reviewed progress of work on the electoral reforms and emphasized efforts to expedite matters regarding preparation of the draft bill in this regard.




Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a briefing session in Islamabad today to seek an update on the second phase of Population and Housing Census 2017.


Addressing the session, he said a team of international observers has expressed satisfaction over the census which will improve the credibility and transparency of the drive.

Five terrorists were killed and eleven apprehended during forty one cordon, search, and intelligence operations across the country in last twenty four hours.


Nine terrorists were apprehended in different parts of Punjab during twenty nine operations, while in Balochistan, five terrorists of proscribed organizations were killed and two security personnel injured.

Mardan police arrested the main accused of Mashal Khan murder case today.
