A three-day international conference on "Health Psychology Issues and Challenges" begun at the Government College University Lahore today.

The conference has been jointly organized by the GCU Psychology Department, Punjab Higher Education Commission, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Punjab AIDS Control Program.

Scholars and faculty members from thirty-five universities of Pakistan and delegates from Germany, the United Kingdom and Canada are participating in the conference.

Addressing the conference, GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah said that the university has received more than three hundred quantitative and qualitative research papers for the conference.

He said that the research papers are based on coping stress, heart diseases, hypertension, HIV/AIDS, diabetics, burden of care, and assessment issues in health psychology.
