Pakistan, Japan economic ties to reduce poverty: Zubair

Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair says strengthening of economic relations between Pakistan and Japan will help reduce the poverty and boost development in the region.

He was talking to a delegation of representatives of Japanese companies operating in Pakistan in Karachi on Monday.

The meeting discussed improved law and order situation in the country leading to restoration of confidence of foreign investors, better facilities being provided by the government for trade and industry and performance of the Japanese companies.

The delegation said Japanese companies are interested in different sectors including infrastructure development, energy and water treatment.

Meanwhile, a 16-member delegation of Pakistan-Philippine Business Forum headed by Philippine ambassador for Pakistan called on Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair in Karachi today.

Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair said that there is peace has been restored in the country after the successful operation Zarb-e-Azb. He said that Pakistan has not needed financial assistance from international community but need to access the trade market.

He said that steps are also being taken for flourish the economic activities in the country and enhancement in investment and trade agreements.
