Finance Minister chairs high-level meeting in Islamabad
A meeting with Finance Minister in the chair held in Islamabad discussed modalities and arrangements for another set of power projects totaling one thousand megawatts of electricity.
The meeting directed officials concerned to put up a proposal in this regard.
The Finance Minister said the government is considering these projects to further augment the 10,000 plus megawatt generation programme for bridging the gap in electricity demand and supply by December 2017.
The meeting resolved that these projects will be undertaken on fast track basis and should be ready by April 2017.
The Finance Minister also chaired another meeting to review the future divestment plans and privatization process.
Chairman Privatization Commission Muhammad Zubair briefed the meeting about the future divestment plans.
Matters pertaining to the working of Pakistan Steel Mills also figured in the meeting.
