Governor Sindh Mohammad Zubair has stressed the need for promotion of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Portugal.

This he said while talking to Charge d’affaires of Portugal Joao Paulo Marques Sabido Costa who called on him in Karachi on Sunday.

Governor said that Sindh especially Karachi offer ample opportunities of investment in projects of various sectors and Portugal should benefit from the opportunities.

He said Pakistan could also benefit with the experience of Portugal in the tourism industry and bring improvements in the country’s tourism sector.

Speaking on the occasion, the Portuguese dignitary said that Pakistan has emerged as a peaceful and investment friendly country in recent years and world investors including Portuguese investors are keen to invest in the country.

European markets for its textile and leather goods as it has been now given GPS plus status by European Union.

The Portuguese Charge D’Affaires further said that Portugal produce 62 percent of its electricity through wind power and could also help Pakistan in this sector as it has vast wind corridors.
