State Bank become first department to reach Patron's Trophy semi-finals 

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) became the first department to qualify for the knockout round of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II Cricket Tournament after cantering to their fourth successive victory in Group ‘A’. Candyland were the latest victims for the rampant SBP side at the NBP Sports Complex where they were annihilated by an innings and 127 runs on day two of the fourth-round fixture.
SBP’s third success by innings was set up by slow left-armer Kashif Bhatti who snared match figures of 11 for 42, including seven for 32 in Candyland’s second innings of 103. Earlier resuming their overnight first innings at 42-3, Candyland were shot out for 54 with the pace and spin duo of Ataullah and Kashif doing the damage. Ataullah took 5-16 in 6.5 overs, while Kashif claimed 4-10.

In New Zealand, the 14th ranked Pakistan came from behind to win the series 2-1, with two matches ending in a draw. The hosts stand 8th in the FIH rankings.
