The United Nations has expressed concern over the plight of stateless Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar .

In a statement, U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein urged Myanmar to get back on track in a crucial year for the country's democratic transition and long-term reconciliation.

He said the recent developments relating to the human rights of minorities, the freedom of expression and the right to peaceful protest are calling into question the direction of reforms in the country.
