Death anniversary of Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan being observed today

The 18th death anniversary of the revered politician, Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan is being observed on Sunday.

Known as 'Baba-e-Jamhooriat' for his services rendered for the restoration of democracy in the country, Nasrullah Khan spent his entire life in struggle to strengthen the parliamentary democracy in Pakistan.

Baba-e-Jamhooriat passed away on 26th September 2003 following a heart attack at the age of 85. 

He is buried at Khangarh in Muzaffargarh district.

Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan was born on 13th November 1916 in Khangarh. He started active politics in 1930 by joining Majlis-e-Ahrar-ul-Islam to struggle against the British Raj in the subcontinent.

He was elected as the Secretary General of All India Majlis-e-Ahrar-ul-Islam in 1945.

After partition he joined the Muslim League. He served as elected member of the Punjab and the National assemblies.
