A report released by Kashmir Media Service says Indian government is continuously ignoring calls for the release of thousands of Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails despite the devastating situation of COVID-19.

The report said Indian government is openly violating the Geneva Convention on prisoners’ rights and this matter needs immediate intervention by the international community.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe Ali Raza Syed in a statement in Brussels has called upon the Indian authorities to immediately release all illegally detained Kashmiris in jails in view of the deadly wave of coronavirus.
