The US daily Washington Post has appreciated the elaborate screening arrangements taken by Pakistan government in its fight against coronavirus pandemic.
Vanessa H. Larson, a multiplatform editor of the daily, has given a detailed account of measures against the deadly bug being implemented across Pakistan during her eight day trip to the country.
She wrote that on arrival in Pakistan on 13th of this month, they underwent a temperature scan, as well as filling of forms for their previous travel itinerary in a painless and organized process.
On the other hand, she observed lax screening and monitoring environment on her return to New York that is being dubbed the epicenter of the US outbreak with over 25,000 reported cases and more than 200 deaths.
Criticizing the US government response, she said the Washington government is not taking the coronavirus as seriously as it should, despite having vast resources.
