Council of Islamic Ideology has expressed all-out support to the government in its endeavor to contain Coronavirus pandemic.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel on Thursday, Chairman of the Council Professor Dr. Qibla Ayaz asked people to offer prayers at homes and avoid big gathering at mosques.
He said the Apex body of the council conducted a meeting and passed resolution in wake of Covid -19 outbreak in Pakistan. A notification was issued for the general public to take all precautionary measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
He said a video conference was organized in the Parliament and the religious scholars of different sects from all over the country were taken on board.
Speaking on the occasion, all the religious scholar agreed that in case of any emergency and medical reasons the state holds the authority to limit the number of namazis in the mosques to avoid gathering.
He said anyone with the symptoms or doubted to have symptoms is exempted from group prayers and Friday prayers and does not need to come to mosques until the complete control of the virus.
The namazis are allowed to offer Zuhar prayers at home instead of Friday prayers in the mosques. The mosque staff should make proper arrangements and take all precautionary measures to stay safe.
The mosque authority should strictly deal with anyone who does not follow the instruction properly.
