Eid-ul-Azha celebrated in AJK
The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for peace, progress, prosperity of Pakistan.
Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated all over Azad Jammu and Kashmir with traditional religious fervor on Friday to commemorate the supreme sacrifice offered by of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) of his son Hazrat Ismail Zabiullah.
The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for the peace, progress, prosperity of Pakistan, well-being of the Muslim Ummah and early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Eid congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs, Imam Bargahs and open places in all cities, towns, and villages across the state.
In the state capital Muzaffarabad the main Eid congregation was held at Markazi Eidgah (Masjid Khadim Haramain Shareefain).
Ulema and Scholars highlighted the significance of the day. A resolution was adopted on this occasion condemning ban imposed by Indian authorities on slaughter of cow and selling of beef and state terrorism in occupied Kashmir.
The resolution also condemned the recent terrorist attack in Peshawar and expressed complete solidarity with Pak Armed Forces for conducting a successful operation Zarb-e-Azb to eliminate terrorism from the country. Fateh was offered for the martyrs of Mina incident.
After offering Eid prayers, the faithful are sacrificing animals to follow the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim Khalil Ullah.
AJK prime Minster Chaudhry Abdul Majeed offered Eid prayers at his native town Chakswari in Mirpur.
Meanwhile, foolproof security arrangements were made for Eid-ul-Azha congregations at mosques, Eidgahs and Imambargahs during Eid prayers.
