PM directs to ensure safe evacuation of stranded tourists
Prime Minister is personally monitoring the situation regarding stranded tourists.
According to ISPR, fifty tourists, stranded at Bharvai road in Naran, have been evacuated.
In a statement, it said that personnel of Frontier Works Organization (FWO) are carrying out relief efforts at Bata Kundi road.
Meanwhile, Spokesperson of the federal government has said that Prime Minister is personally monitoring the situation in Kaghan valley regarding stranded tourists in the area.
In a statement, he said Nawaz Sharif has directed to provide every possible assistance to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Government.
The spokesperson said that helicopters have been provided to the provincial government and additional choppers would also be made available if need arises.
He said Naran-Abbottabad road has been opened for traffic.
Kaghan Valley received heavy snow during the past 24 hours blocking the road between Naran and Balakot.
As a result, hundreds of tourists have stranded in the area.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed concerned officials to ensure safe evacuation of tourists stranded in heavy snow.
He directed the Interior Secretary to contact the Chief Secretary Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for help to the stranded tourists.
