Govt launches interest-free loan scheme tomorrow
As many as 200,000 interest free loans of up to Rs50,000 will be provided to sponsor productive micro-enterprise activities.
Prime Minister's Interest Free Loan Scheme under the umbrella of Prime Minister's Youth Programme will be launched on Thursday across the country.
Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif will launch the maiden Interest Free Loan Scheme at Islamabad.
This was disclosed at a meeting presided over by the Chairperson Prime Minister's Youth Programme Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Wednesday.
She said under the scheme, 200,000 interest free loans of up to Rs50,000 would be provided to sponsor productive micro-enterprise activities by the poor in rural and urban areas.
The Chairperson said that 50 per cent of the loans have been set aside for women. The scheme will cover 200,000 people in the first year.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that launching of interest free loans scheme would usher in a new era of socio-economic development of the country.
