Gilani, several leaders put under house arrest
In occupied Kashmir, the authorities placed the veteran Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani and several other Hurriyet leaders under house arrest on Friday to prevent them from leading anti-India and anti-Israel protest rallies.
According to Kashmir Media Service, besides Syed Ali Gilani, several other Hurriyet leaders were not even allowed to offer Juma prayers.
On the other hand, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, the Secretary General of World Kashmir Awareness, has said in Washington on Friday that the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination is explicitly recognized by the United Nations and upheld equally by India and Pakistan.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Dr. Fai said this in his submission to the UN Working Group, in Washington on Friday. The Working group is meeting this week in New York.
