Day of Mourning observed to express solidarity with Palestinians
International community urged to play its role in halting Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.
On the call of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Day of Mourning was observed in the country on Friday to express solidarity with oppressed Palestinians.
National flag flew half-mast on the occasion.
The nation also observed Al-Quds Day today on the occasion of Jumatul Wida.
During Juma congregations, Ulema and Khateebs highlighted the plight of people of Gaza and urged the international community, especially the United Nations, to play their role in halting Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.
After Juma prayers, protest demonstrations were held in different cities and towns to condemn Israeli aggression against Palestinians.
The participants urged the civilized world to demonstrate urgency in stopping bloodshed in Gaza and lifting of blockade of the territory by Israel.
Different political parties and organizations also organized functions where speakers called for a just solution of the Palestinian issue and action against Israel for its war crimes in Gaza.
