The government is conducting door-to-door survey to register households for developing a National Socio-Economic Registry to help the poor.

Under Benazir Income Support Program, the survey has been completed in four districts so far with seven hundred thousand households registered.

These include Haripur, Sukkur, Bahawalpur and Naseerabad districts.

To cover all areas of the country, the survey is currently going on in Mirpur, Gilgit, Mohmand Agency and the districts of Thatta, Sajawal, Qilla Saifullah, Lakki Marwat, Charsadda, Chakwal, Faisalabad and Layyah.

The process will begin in all remaining districts across the country in August this year.

The survey will help maintain a credible database of variations in economic conditions of people, enabling them to benefit from the government`s welfare schemes.
