Nation is celebrating 141st birthday of founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with national zeal and enthusiasm on Sunday.  

 

The federal government has released over two hundred seventy-nine billion rupees for various development projects across the country.

 

In Occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders have termed India’s attempts to change Kashmir’s demography unacceptable.

 

Russian military plane with ninety-one people on board crashed over Black Sea on Sunday.

BIRTHDAY

The 141st birthday of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is being celebrated with national zeal and enthusiasm on Sunday. 

 

The national flag is hoisted atop all public and private buildings.

 

The day dawned with Qur'an Khawani at the Quaid's mausoleum in Karachi.  A change of guard ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Quaid on Sunday morning. Cadets of Pakistan Military Academy Kakul took the charge of guard duty.

 

Commandant PMA Kakul Major General Abdullah Dogar, who was chief guest on the occasion, laid floral wreath at the Mazar and offered Fateha.

 

The federal government has already announced weeklong celebrations in connection with the birth anniversary of the founding father from 19th to 25th of this month with the theme 'Quaid Ka Pakistan'.

 

Various events, including seminars, debates, exhibitions, and shows of performing arts have been arranged to highlight various aspects of personality of the founding father, his teachings and achievements.

 

As part of the week-long celebrations in connection with the Quaid's birth anniversary, a grand ceremony will be held at Liaquat Gymnasium, Sports Complex Islamabad on Sunday afternoon.

 

Radio Pakistan and Pakistan television are broadcasting and telecasting special programmes in connection with the birth anniversary of the Quaid-e-Azam.

  

MURAD:

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah visited the Mazar of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to pay homage to the father of the nation.

 

The Chief Minister laid floral wreath at the Mazar and offered fateha.

 

Other cabinet members also accompanied the Chief Minister.

                     

CM-MEDIA:

Later talking to media, the Sindh Chief Minister said that Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah gave us a clear path and principals and by following these we can make our country developed and prosperous.

 

He said that we must remain united and work together for our homeland.   

                   

PSDP:

The Federal Government has released over two hundred seventy-nine billion rupees for various development projects across the country out of eight hundred billion rupees Public Sector Development Programme of the current financial year. 

 

According to the Planning Commission, forty-eight billion rupees have been released for different development projects in water and power sector upto 23rd of this month.  Over seventy-nine billion rupees were released to National Highway Authority for different road projects.

 

Likewise, over forty-two billion rupees have been released for Special Federal Development Programme for Temporary Displaced Persons and Security Enhancement.  Twenty billion rupees released for development of Special Areas including AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, States and Frontier Regions and FATA.

 

Twenty billion rupees were released for Prime Minister's Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme and eight billion rupees for Prime Minister's Youth and Hunarmand Programme during this period.

 

Similarly, about fourteen billion rupees were released for Railways development and upgradation projects and nine billion rupees for projects being implemented by Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission.

 

KASHMIR

In Occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders have termed the New Delhi’s attempts aimed at changing the Jammu and Kashmir’s demography as unacceptable.  

 

Addressing the people, during visiting of South, North and Central Kashmir areas, they vowed to oppose the move to change the disputed nature of the territory.

 

They paid glowing tributes to the youth martyred in the firing by Indian forces during the ongoing resistance movement.

 

A statement issued by the Mirwaiz-led forum said that the Hurriyet leaders had said that the sacrifices of the martyrs had once again brought the Kashmir dispute to international focus.

 

Meanwhile, the forum condemned the continued detention of Hurriyet leader Ghulam Nabi Zaki despite the court ordered his release.

                        

RUSSIA-PLANE

A Russian TU-154 plane crashed with 91 people on board over black sea.

 

Earlier, plane has disappeared from radar just minutes after take-off from the Black Sea resort of Sochi

 

Russian media say, aircraft belongs to the defence ministry, flying to Syria's Latakia province.

 

Meanwhile, Debris from a Russian military plane has been found in the Black Sea.

US President-elect Donald Trump has that the UN vote demanding Israel halt settlements in Palestinian territory would make a peace deal "much harder.

 

In a message on Twitter, he said the big loss for Israel in the United Nations will make it much harder to negotiate peace.

 

The UN vote Friday marked a stark turnabout in longstanding US custom at the world body.
