Govt releases over Rs279b for development projects
This amount to be spent on various sectors such as NHA, TDPs, SDGs, PAEC and so forth.
The Federal Government has released over two hundred seventy-nine billion rupees for various development projects across the country out of eight hundred billion Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of the current financial year.
According to the Planning Commission, forty-eighty billion rupees have been released for different development projects in water and power sector upto 23rd of this month. Over seventy-nine billion rupees were released to National Highway Authority (NHA) for different road projects.
Likewise, over forty-two billion rupees have been released for Special Federal Development Programme for Temporary Displaced Persons (TDPs) and Security Enhancement. Twenty billion rupees released for development of Special Areas including AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, States and Frontier Regions and FATA.
Twenty billion rupees were released for Prime Minister's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Achievement Programme and eight billion rupees for Prime Minister's Youth and Hunarmand Programme during this period.
Similarly, about fourteen billion rupees were released for Railways development and up gradation projects and nine billion rupees for projects being implemented by Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC).
