The day dawned with Qur'an Khwani at Quaid's Mausoleum in Karachi. In his message on the birth anniversary of the Quaid-e-Azam, the President says the best tribute to founder of the nation is to dedicate all our capabilities for national development while adhering to his teachings and thoughts. While the Prime Minister says we can pay real homage to the memory of Quaid-e-Azam by reaffirming our abiding faith in his teachings. Addressing the concluding ceremony of the week-long celebrations, Marriyum Aurangzeb says by following the guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam, Pakistan will be made prosperous and developed country.
Christians across world celebrate Christmas
The Christian community is celebrating Christmas across the world to mark the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ (AS). This year, a special Christmas Peace Train has been launched by Railways Ministry to express solidarity with the Christian community. In their message on the occasion of Christmas, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif say the government is striving to promote interfaith harmony amongst all religions and discourage discrimination on the basis of religion.
Interior Minister says better results have started appearing in the areas of economy, energy, and law and order due to hard work by the government
Talking to newsmen in Islamabad, he said media is monitoring the government's performance and people will give their verdict in elections. There was no data of fourth schedulers and he prepared the record of proscribed organizations. At present, there are sixty-one proscribed organizations. More than two hundred thousand identity cards have been blocked and thousands cancelled. He said a database of criminals is being prepared to curb crimes.

President appeals nation to offer special prayers for rain tomorrow
President Mamnoon Hussain has made an appeal to the nation to seek Allah Almighty's blessings and hold countrywide special prayers for rain tomorrow (Monday). The President asked Ulema to lead the prayers across the length and breadth of the country and pray to the Almighty for a rain of blessings to end the drought. President said that he would also join the nation after Zohar prayers for Namaz-e-Istasqa prayers in Islamabad.
Pakistan releases 220 Indian fishermen
Pakistan has released two hundred and twenty Indian fishermen today from Malir District Jail Karachi. According to official sources, the fishermen were released as a goodwill gesture. The fishermen were arrested for violating territorial waters of Pakistan in the Arabian Sea.
US approves night vision infrared target sight system for Pakistan
According to a statement issued by the US Defense Department, American arms giant Lockheed Martin Corp, under a 151 million dollars contract deal, will support the Target Sight System on US and Pakistan AH 1Z Cobra attack helicopters. The TSS is third generation forward looking infrared sensor with a laser designator turret that provides target sighting in day, night, or adverse weather conditions. It provides the capability to identify and laser designate targets at maximum weapon range, significantly enhancing platform survivability and lethality.
Pakistan expresses deep grief and sorrow over Russian plane crash incident on Sunday which claimed more than ninety valuable lives
Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria in a statement said the leadership and the people of Pakistan are deeply saddened on the crash of Tu-154 aircraft and convey heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and Government of the Russian Federation. Earlier, a Russian military plane crashed with 92 people on board over Black Sea.
