China has dismissed Indian claim that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is passing through a disputed territory.

Responding to a question during his regular briefing in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Zhao Lijian said the CPEC is an economic initiative that targets no third country.

He said China has stated its principled position on Kashmir issue many times.

The spokesperson appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan’s remarks about the CPEC during a recent high level meeting, who said the maga project will bring economic progress not only to Pakistan but the entire region.

Lijian said the Chinese side is having discussion with third parties, including Afghanistan on the extension of the flagship project.

He said it will not only boost faster economic development in Pakistan, but also regional connectivity.
