Afghan forces retake district from Taliban
The district was retaken after three days of air and ground offensive
In Afghanistan , government forces have retaken the control of Ghormach district in Fayrab province, after it was overrun by Taliban fighters last week.
A local senior police officer said today that the district was retaken after three days of air and ground offensive.
He also confirmed that the local district police chief and 12 other policemen captured by Taliban last week have been killed.
Taliban fighters launched a surprise attack and took control of the district last Sunday.
