According to a weather advisory issued by Pakistan Meteorological Department on Tuesday for next two days, people living in Kachi abadi have been sensitized to shift to safe locations to avoid any loss of life due to roof or wall collapse.

It urged smooth functioning of urban rain water disposal and sanitation systems along with backup supply and availability of requisite staff.

The advisory asked the police to man all the crossing points at seasonal nullahs and hill torrents to stop crossing of vehicles during flash flood.

In view of heavy rain and snowfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, it has been suggested that all roads leading to snow bound areas should be covered by police check posts to control flow of traffic and ensure commuters' safety.

Traffic to and from Murree, Galiyat, Naran, and Kaghan valley must be regulated. The Advisory also called for placement of earth and snow clearing machinery at pre-identified vulnerable locations. It recommended sufficient stock of food, medicines and petroleum products for far-flung and snow bound areas.
