Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed bullish trend on second consecutive day, on Tuesday at the start of the business as 100 index crossed the level of 50 thousand points with 174 points increase in hundred index. The market had closed at 49876 points yesterday which at the start of the business reached to the highest level of fifty thousand fifty (50,050) points on Tuesday morning. This increasing trend of investment in stock exchange is being deemed as good omen for national economy by business.

Finance Minister chaired a meeting- Government is actively working to resolve the financial bleeding caused to the national exchequer by loss-making state-owned enterprises

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has emphasized that the government’s utmost priority with respect to privatization is to ensure that transactions are conducted in an open, fair and transparent manner. He said this while chairing a meeting in Islamabad today to review matters related to Privatization. Finance Minister said that the government is actively working to resolve the financial bleeding caused to the national exchequer by loss-making state-owned enterprises.

Federal Govt releases Rs5b for welfare of TDPs

The federal government has released over five billion rupees for welfare of Temporarily Displaced Persons of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.FATA secretariat sources told our Peshawar correspondent that the amount will be spent on providing compensation to the tribal people whose houses were destroyed or damaged in terrorist acts.The owner of each damaged house receive paid four hundred thousand rupees while partially damaged houses' owners will get one hundred sixty thousand rupees each.

Pakistanis to get mobile bank account facility by 2019: Chairman PTA

Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Dr Syed Ismail Shah on Tuesday said that efforts were underway to open bank accounts on mobile through which the people would be able to open mobile bank accounts till 2019.Talking to APP here after attending the opening session of the 29th South Asian Network Operators Group(SANOG) meeting, he said that Pakistan has been playing a leading role in this group.He said that currently about 40 million people were using mobiles in the country while 87 percent people have access to the mobile facility.Dr Shah added that geographically 57 per cent Pakistanis have the access to mobile facility.

Railways to rehabilitate 93 bridges upto June 2017

Pakistan Railways will repair 93 railway bridges upto June 2017 to ensure the safety of the passengers.“Pakistan Railways had already rehabilitated 66 bridges,” official sources in the Ministry of Railways told APP.The Railways administration desires to provide quick and safe journey to the travelling public within shortest possible time, they added.“There are 13841 bridges including 532 major and 13309 minor bridges over the system. Most of the bridges were constructed well before partition, when Railway System was introduced in the subcontinent and have completed their useful life, the sources added.
