Moin Akhtar's birth anniversary observed

Tuesday marked the 63rd birth anniversary of Moin Akthar‚ one of the most Pakistani beloved comics‚ hosts and actors. His extraordinary impersonations and compelling performances earned him recognition in no time.
Akhtar ‚ born on December 24‚ 1950‚ joined the Pakistani entertainment industry in 1966.
He was fluent in several languages‚ including English‚ Bengali‚ Sindhi‚ Punjabi‚ Memon‚ Pashto‚ Gujarati and Urdu.
Akhtar performed not only in Pakistan but played in several stage shows like Bakra Qiston Pe and Buddha Ghar Pe Hai with Umer Sharif in India too.
In recognition of his talent and work‚ Akhtar was awarded with Pride of Performance and Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan.
In 1996 he was also awarded honorary citizenship of Dallas for his achievements.
Moin Akhtar died on April 22‚ 2011 in Karachi after suffering from a heart attack.
