Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has urged the international community, particularly the UN, to play its role in protecting the innocent Kashmiris from Indian barbarities.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad this afternoon, he said the situation of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is deteriorating day by day.
He said yesterday the diplomatic corps in Islamabad was thoroughly updated on the worsening human rights situations in Occupied Kashmir.
He said today's events have exposed the ugly face of so-called largest democracy of the world.
They exhibited fascist attitude in Srinagar Airport where they stopped Lok Sabha Member and key leader of Congress Party Rahul Gandhi along with eleven other associates who had arrived to take the first hand observation and assessment of situation.
They were arrested at the airport and forced to leave for Delhi by the next flight.
A press conference by one of his associates was disrupted by Indian authorities and resulted in his arrest.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Kashmir is under complete lockdown by Indian authorities and no news of the inside situation is getting out.
He said he had a telephonic conversation with the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in which he thanked him for issuing a comprehensive statement over the Kashmir situation.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also applauded him that Security Council members were briefed by various UN agencies that how human rights violations were being perpetrated in Kashmir and how it could threaten the regional peace.
Qureshi said he also drew the attention of UN Secretary General that the curfew imposed by India in Kashmir has been continuing for the last 20 days.
The innocent Kashmiris were subjected to brutal treatment with pallet guns fired at them outside UN office in Kashmir.
He said there are three parties in Jammu and Kashmir and two of them have opposed the steps of 5th of this month.
He said Pakistan and the Kashmiris have totally rejected this development while the third party that is India has been divided from inside.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said he urged the UN Secretary General to play an immediate role in stopping the brutal treatment of Kashmiris by Indian security forces.
He also asked him to apprise the five permanent members of UN Security Council on the gravity of the situation.
The Foreign Minister said United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights should personally visit Occupied Kashmir to know and assess the situation so that the world body plays a role in averting the humanitarian crisis in the occupied area.
He said Pakistan will also provide all out support to her in Azad Kashmir if she intends to visit it too.
The Foreign Minister informed UN Secretary General that India is preparing for a false flag operation to divert the International attention from Occupied Kashmir.
Qureshi informed that the UN Secretary General told him that he is in Paris and will play his role in this regard.
