In Occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the Hurriyat leadership has always been in favour of talks to settle the Kashmir dispute.
The Hurriyat forum said this in response to a statement of the Governor of occupied Kashmir Satya Pal Malik, wherein he stated that it was encouraging to see Hurriyat’s readiness for talks.
In a statement in Srinagar, a spokesman of the Hurriyat forum said that the Hurriyat leadership has always been in favour of talks as the means of conflict resolution.
He said Kashmiris being the most affected party to the Kashmir dispute for the past 72 years, naturally want its resolution.
The spokesman said the Hurriyat forum has maintained and reiterated that engagement and dialogue among stakeholders is the best and most peaceful means of resolution of Kashmir issue and not force.
