Renowned singer Shahnaz Begum has passed away in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has expressed condolence over death of eminent singer Shahnaz Begum, who died in Bangladesh.

In a statement, he said Shahnaz Begum's songs "Sohni Dharti Allah Rakhe" and "Jeeway Jeeway Pakistan" are a valuable asset of our national heritage and have become voice of the nation.

Meanwhile, in a tweet, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Faisal said we mourn the passing away of wonderful singer Shahnaz Begum.

He said Shahnaz Begum's song "Sohni Dharti Allah Rakhay," written by Jameeluddin Aali, still reverberates in our hearts and minds.
