Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has brought a paradigm shift in Sino-Pak bilateral relations from geo-strategic to geo-economics.

He was addressing a seminar in connection with 65 years of Pak-China diplomatic relations in Islamabad on Monday.

The Minister said Asia has emerged as the center of economic activities in the world and China has changed the scenario through its development in software knowledge.

He said the Corridor is not only a bilateral project between Pakistan and China but it will also establish regional connectivity which will integrate three engines of growth South Asia, China and Central Asia.

He said true nature of friendship was demonstrated when China took the decision to invest forty-six billion dollars in Pakistan under CPEC on the basis of confidence it had on the people of Pakistan.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi said China has never pursued the policy of imperialism rather it believes in sharing peace and prosperity with the neighbouring countries.

He said that two countries are fully committed to transform the destiny of the peoples of the region.

In his remarks, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong said Pakistan and China have unique relations which have always withstood the testing times.
