An impressive investiture ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Monday evening.

President Mamnoon Hussain conferred awards on those who served the cause of the country or achieved distinction in different fields. 

Director-General ISI Lt. General Rizwan Akhtar received Hilal-i-Shujaat for gallantry.Sitara-e-Shujaat was conferred posthumously on Principal APS Peshawar Shaheed Tahira Qazi and teacher of the school Shaheed Saima Zareen.

Late Agha Hassan Abidi was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz posthumously for public service.Recipients of Hilal-e-Imtiaz included Dr. Muhammad Junaid Zaidi for teaching and science and technology and Engineer Muhammad Asghar.

Minhaj Burna was posthumously awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in Journalism.Some foreigners also received awards for their contribution towards strengthening cooperation with Pakistan in different fields.

During the ceremony total 112 awards including 60 military and 52 civil awards were conferred upon different personalities for their meritorious services.
