Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah passed away
King Abdullah, who was 90, had been in hospital for several weeks and was suffering from pneumonia.
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudia Arabia has passed away in Riyadh.
He was 90.
The announcement of King's death has been made on State Television.
King Abdullah had been at a hospital in Riyadh for several weeks suffering from lung infection.
He came to the throne in 2005 upon the death of King Fahd bin Abdulaziz
King Abdullah was also Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers and Commander of the National Guard.
The late Saudi king's funeral ceremony will be held this afternoon.
State TV has also announced that Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is now officially the new Saudi king and Prince Muqrin Bin Abdulaziz the new crown prince.
King Salman has been crown prince and defence minister since 2012. He was governor of Riyadh province for five decades.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of Saudi King Shah Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.
He said being Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah had a deep respect in the hearts of Pakistani people.
Nawaz Sharif said Pakistani nation stands with King's family and Saudi nation in this hour of grief.
The Prime Minister had visited Saudi Arabia last week to enquire the health of King Abdullah .
