The UN Security Council has unanimously approved a resolution to boost humanitarian aid access in Syria.

The resolution demanded the government and the opposition to promptly allow the access for UN humanitarian agencies and their implementing partners across conflict-hit areas.

The resolution also called for an immediate end to all forms of violence in the country.

Around nine million people have been driven from their homes since the conflict erupted three years ago between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and various groups seeking his ouster.
