Afghan army chief, ISAF commander meet Gen. Raheel
The meeting discussed overall security situation in the region, matters relating to coordination on the Pak-Afghan border.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has vowed to extend full support to Afghan Army and ISAF in all spheres, including coordinated operations in respective areas by both sides and sharing of intelligence.
He was talking to Chief of General Staff of Afghan Army General Sher Muhammad Karimi and ISAF Commander General John Campbell in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
On the occasion, the visiting dignitaries expressed their grief over the tragic terrorist’s act of Peshawar School in which 149 innocent lives were lost including 133 children.
They assured their full support in fight against terrorism and eliminating terrorists on Afghan soil.
The Army Chief appreciated the recently commenced operations by Afghan forces against TTP in areas close to Pak-Afghan Border.
The trilateral meeting discussed overall security situation in the region, matters relating to coordination on the Pak-Afghan border and protocols put in place to improve border control.
Both Chief of General Staff Afghan National Army and ISAF Commander acknowledged that due to the successful and non-discriminatory Zarb-e-Azb Operation of the Pakistani Security Forces, Pak Army’s operational gains were appreciable and terrorists’ networks have been seriously degraded.
Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.
They discussed matters related to security.
