Govt ready to hold LG elections: AJK PM
Chaudhry Abdul Majeed says government is committed to transfer the power at gross root level.
AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed has said that government is ready to hold the Local Government elections in the state.
Talking to a delegation of Azad Kashmir Newspapers Society, he said that all necessary arrangements are being carried out and government has appointed the Election Commissioner for upcoming local bodies’ poll in Azad Kashmir.
AJK Prime Minister said that a sub committee comprising the members’ of legislative assembly has been constituted to finalize the issue of voter lists with NADRA. The committee has been given task to complete the all lingering issues regarding the new voter lists within a week.
He said that government is committed transfer the power at gross root level and the issue of local bodies’ election was the top priority of the government.
Earlier, Chief Secretary Abid Ali called on AJK Prime Minister and briefed him about the preparations of upcoming budget for financial year 2014-15.
